Live where availableLive dashboards are labelled separately from static libraries
Important distinction: “Live” means the provider presents current or frequently refreshed information; it does not mean every number updates every second. Reference archives may be authoritative but not current. Always check the provider's own date, methodology, coverage and terms of use. VARTA does not own or control external websites.

News verification

VARTA's source-checking rule

Look for the original document, a date, named authors or institutions, transparent methodology and independent corroboration. An official statement proves what an institution said—not automatically that every claim in it is true.

Read VARTA's World Affairs guides ↗

07 · How to use a reference responsibly

Before sharing a claim, ask:
1. Is this an original source, a report about a source, or someone's interpretation?
2. When was it published or last updated?
3. Does the source provide evidence, methods, definitions and uncertainty?
4. Can another reliable source independently confirm the key point?
5. Is the claim historical, cultural, philosophical, spiritual, scientific or political—and is it being presented in the correct category?
6. Is the link freely accessible, and does it permit the intended reuse?

Free to read does not automatically mean free to republish. Respect copyright, licences, privacy and attribution requirements. VARTA does not endorse every position expressed by a linked institution.

Help keep this directory world-class

Suggest a better Indian source, a newly released public dataset, a broken link, a free research archive or a live dashboard. Please include the exact URL, what it provides, who maintains it, and when it was last updated. Editors should periodically verify links and clearly label any resource that becomes restricted, inactive or outdated.
